Stop Intruders Before They Trespass

Along with its many other technological enhancements, the ECL-5I dome camera is equipped with a bright white deterrence LED that can be set to a flashing state (or turned off). This bright "strobe" makes the camera impossible to overlook, especially at night. It also doubles as a power indicator and can draw attention to your business or location at night. When would-be criminals realize a building or room has CCTV cameras, they are likely to look elsewhere for an easier target.

This indoor dome color CCTV camera has a high resolution 1/3" Sony© CCD video sensor and a 3-axis internal bracket that lets you mount it just about anywhere. Night time surveillance is aided by an array of infrared LEDs under SMART control.

SMART LED Control

SMART LED control is built into the camera's video processing chipset. When the camera enters IR mode, it detects the amount of infrared light on the subject and turns IR LEDS on/off as necessary to keep video quality high. To little or too much IR (washout) is never a problem with this camera.

Aspherical Lens

Most users focus a camera lens using visible light. While infrared (IR) light is present in all visible light, the amount is so small no one needs to consider it one way or the other. Visible light and IR light have different wavelengths and strike the lens at slightly different areas, so the perfect focal point for an image created by IR light will be slightly different than for the same image in visible light. This makes IR images sometimes appear slightly out of focus - a phenomenon known as "focus shift".

An aspherical lens compensates for IR focus shift with its shape. Instead of using a perfect sphere model when creating the lens, a slightly flattened sphere shape is used, hence the term aspherical. In operation, this lens shape guides IR light to the same focal point used by visible light. This makes an image formed by IR light just as clear and sharp as images formed by visible light.
