Outdoor IP Camera Solution

Take one of our fully featured ECL-553 full size cameras, add a professional CS-mount varifocal lens (ECL-358AIV) and a video encoder, and put the whole assembly in a weatherproof housing, and you've got a fantastic outdoor IP camera. This gives you lots of options, unlike most IP camera products. Use a different CS-mount lens, for instance. Swap the camera for an ECL-553D and gain infrared capability (add your own radiant IR source, of course). Or get an ECL-553HD for higher resolution and infrared sensitivity. The modular design of the ECL-IP6 provides lots of user modification options.

It all starts with the camera. Well, to be honest it really begins with the lens. We supply a one-third inch 3.5-8mm varifocal lens (ECL-358AIV) that includes an auto-iris and low-light level design enhancements. This lens mates perfectly with the camera's (ECL-553) Sony Super HAD CCD video sensor. Selectable backlight compensation, white balance and an IR cut filter work in conjunction to provide clear, crisp video in a wide range of light levels.

Video Signal IP Conversion

The analog video signal from the camera goes directly to a video encoder module. This module transforms traditional analog CCTV signals into a digital stream and controls access to the video stream using admin/user passwords. It can also transmit audio using the camera's built-in microphone (this option is NOT enabled by default, but it is easy to add). Add your own speaker for 2-way communication.

The video stream uses H264 compression and transmits at VGA/QVGA resolution at up to 30 frames per second.

Weatherproof Outdoor Housing

An ECL-605 housing protects all components. This steel housing has an optically clear glass front. It has a latch on the back, making it easy to open and easy to lock (you'll need to provide your own lock). We also provide a bracket but the housing can be attached to a wide variety of commonly available brackets or design your own for a specific location.
